May 10, 2022 - Brown County Now at a Medium COVID-19 Community Level
As of May 12, 2022, Brown County shifted from a low to a medium COVID-19 community level. This means that an increase in both cases and hospitalizations has occurred according to the CDC data: COVID-19 Community Levels | CDC.
CDC COVID-19 community levels are based on three key metrics:
- New COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people in the past 7 days
- New COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100,000 people in the past 7 days
- Percentage of inpatient hospital beds used by COVID-19 patients in the past 7 days
Along with ensuring that you are up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccines, residents are encouraged to take additional precautions to stay healthy by:
- Getting tested for COVID-19 if you have symptoms or were exposed to someone with COVID-19
- Staying home when you are sick and seeking treatment if you are at high risk or experiencing severe illness
