May 10, 2022 - Brown County Now at a Medium COVID-19 Community Level

Community LevelsAs of May 12, 2022, Brown County shifted from a low to a medium COVID-19 community level. This means that an increase in both cases and hospitalizations has occurred according to the CDC data: COVID-19 Community Levels | CDC.

CDC COVID-19 community levels are based on three key metrics:
  1. New COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people in the past 7 days
  2. New COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100,000 people in the past 7 days
  3. Percentage of inpatient hospital beds used by COVID-19 patients in the past 7 days
With a medium COVID-19 community level, wearing a well-fitting mask or respirator in public indoor settings is not required, however residents may consider wearing them in public indoor spaces to further reduce their risk. Individuals at high risk for severe illness can talk with a healthcare provider about taking additional precautions, including wearing a well-fitting mask or respirator and using COVID-19 at home tests before getting together with friends and family.
