In 2001, the Diocese of Green Bay generously donated 5 acres of land along the banks of the Fox River in the Village of Allouez. With several acres of mature woods, the site attracts a variety of wildlife including bald eagles that have been known to sit in the trees while scanning the river for fish – certainly a fitting tribute to St. Francis!
Bisected by the Fox River State Recreational Trail, St. Francis Park offers a wonderful trailside rest area and picnic spot with a year-round restroom facility and overhead shelter. The park also features a gravel jogging path and a fitness course with permanent exercise stations.
There is no car access to this park, so put on your walking shoes or grab your bike!
