Water: Water is available at a water station with spigots on the western corner of the garden. Water is also available in a large tank on the eastern side of the garden, next to the shed. This tank is generously filled by the Green Bay Metro Fire Department. Gardeners are encouraged to mulch and conserve water whenever possible.

Fencing: This garden is not fenced in. Gardeners are encouraged to put up their own temporary fencing at the beginning of the season, due to pests, including deer. Fencing must be removed at the end of each season.

Planting Restrictions: Most of this garden is plowed twice a year. Because of this, all plants must be annuals, except in designated perennial sections. Contact the garden coordinator if interested in growing perennials.

Soil: 2016 Veterans' Garden Soil Report

Compost: There is not an active compost system at the Veterans' Garden, though there are onsite tumblers. Please contact the program if interested in initiating and maintaining regular compost maintenance.

Waste: There is not a garbage can available at the Veterans’ Community Garden. Waste must be carried out.

Other: Gardeners must weed the gravel around their plots, if applicable, as this area is their responsibility. Gardeners may not put rocks in grass, as they interfere with mowing.
