YOU MUST OBTAIN A BROWN COUNTY HIGHWAY PERMIT FOR THE FOLLOWING:
Driveway Installation:
Permit to add or revise an access point onto a County Trunk Highway. Submit page 1 only. Owner must sign permit. Page 2 contains requirements and restrictions that must be observed.

Work Within Right-of-Way:
Permit to construct, operate and maintain utilities within highway right-of-way. This permit is also used for any type of private work within County Trunk Highway right-of-way. Submit page 1 only unless the road is to be open cut. An open cut requires the applicant to sign and return the Five Year Warranty Agreement document. Where construction will impede normal traffic flow, a traffic control plan in accordance with "Wisconsin Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" (MUTCD), Chapter 6, indicating placement & spacing of all construction signs applicable to the work being carried out shall also be submitted for review and approval.

Completion Certificate:
Must be submitted when the permitted work within right-of-way is completed and restored.

Setback:
Construct any type of structure in a Brown County township located within 200 feet of a County Trunk Highway. This includes new building(s), addition(s), signs, repairs, alterations, moving or wrecking. Submit Pages 1 & 2 only.

Single-Trip:
Moving an oversized load on any Brown County Trunk Highway, whereby the load will be over length, width, height, or weight.
**A current Certificate of Liability Insurance Form from your insurer MUST be on file at the Brown County Public Works office**

Annual Overweight:
Annual permit to transport agricultural products as defined in 2011 Wisconsin Senate Bill 223.
Maximum gross weight not to exceed 90,000 pounds
**A current Certificate of Liability Insurance Form from your insurer MUST be on file at the Brown County Public Works office**

On February 18, 2015, Brown County adopted an ordinance allowing unlimited weight and length for IOH and AG-CMV's on County highways in Brown County. This ordinance will become effective January 1, 2016.
