The Land and Water Conservation Department is involved in a number of activities directed at water quality improvement, soil erosion control, wildlife damage and public awareness of those actions. The department addresses water quality and state-mandated Agricultural Non-Point Performance Standards and Prohibitions through administration of a variety of programs including: the Northern Pike Habitat Restoration Project; Brown County Land and Water Resource Management Plan; Brown County Animal Waste Management Ordinance; Brown County Agriculture Shoreland Management Ordinance and the Wisconsin Working Lands Initiative Program.
