The Private Sewage System Ordinance (Chapter 11) covers all municipalites in Brown County where public sewer is not available. The purpose of this ordinance is to promote the health, safety, aesthetics and general welfare of the people and communities within Brown County through administration and enforcement of sound sanitary practices as promulgated by Chapter 145 of the Wisconsin Statutes, Department of Commerce Chapters 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, Wisconsin Administrative Code and this chapter. The Non-Metallic Mining Reclamation Ordinance (Chapter 14) covers all municipalities in Brown County except for the village of Hobart and the towns of Lawrence and Humboldt because they have adopted their own ordinance. The purpose of this ordinance is to establish a local program to ensure the effective reclamation of nonmetallic mining sites on which nonmetallic mining takes place in Brown County to ensure compliance with Chapter NR 135, Wisconsin Administrative Code and Subchapter I of Chapter 295, Wisconsin Statutes. The Shorelands and Wetlands Ordinance (Chapter 22) applies to all unincorporated areas in Brown County and, by contract, the village of Bellevue. The purpose of this ordinance is to further the maintenance of safe and healthful conditions; prevent and control water pollution; protect spawning grounds, fish and aquatic life; control building sites, placement of structures and land uses; and to preserve shore cover and natural beauty. The Department of Natural Resources has approved the Ordinance. The Brown County Board of Supervisors approved Chapter 22 of the Brown County Code of Ordinances at the September 21, 2016 meeting. The Floodplains Ordinance (Chapter 23) applies to all unincorporated areas of Brown County. By contract, Brown County Zoning also administers the Village of Bellevue Floodplain Zoning Ordinance.
