Upcoming Events For Feb. 2022

- Explorer Wednesday - Every Wed - Feb. 1, 2022 - Dec. 7, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
We are pleased to offer free admission to Brown County residents from 9am to 8pm the first Wednesday of the month.  

Not only is admission FREE all day, so is a take home project we will be offering from noon to 7:00 p.m. Activities may include art projects, science experiments, or guided tours of a featured exhibit.

- International Film Series: The Man Who Sold His Skin - Feb. 2, 2022 @ 7:00 pm
Sam Ali, a Syrian young man, fled the Syrian civil war. In Lebanon, he meets a famous tattoo artist, who makes Sam’s back his canvas for a piece of work. Soon, Sam becomes a living work of art worth millions. Collectors are interested, but human rights activists are outraged at the exploitation. Tunisia’s entry for Best International Film.

All films are free and open to the public and are unrated but intended for a mature audience. Due to social distancing requirements, capacity is limited to 65 people. Face coverings are encouraged for both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests.

The Neville Public Museum Astronomical Society (NPMAS) is a fellowship of amateur astronomers. We join together to share learnings, experiences, and the passion we have for astronomy. We nurture and promote this interest through our activities. The foundation of our endeavors is the enjoyment we share.

Meetings are free and open to the public and include society business, an astronomy-related presentation, and an overview of a Deep Sky Object of the Month.

Location: Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve - 2024 Lakeview Drive, Suamico WI
Your chance to enjoy the outdoors doesn't end with the arrival of cold weather. Registered participants can stop in anytime between 5pm and 8pm to enjoy Barkhausen's Self-Guided Candlelit Hike. The entire family, including leashed dogs, are able to enjoy the 1.25 mile stroll through Barkhausen's illuminated trail that winds through the woods during this event. 

Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Tickets are purchased online only (unfortunately we are not taking walk-ins for this event). Cost is $5/person (2 and under are free). Purchases are final, no refunds unless cancelled due to weather. 

We will have snowshoe rentals (weather dependent) onsite on a first-come, first-serve basis. Rental
fees are $3/child and $5/adult and are not included in event fee.

At the tender age of five, Pao Lor joined thousands of Hmong who fled for their lives through the jungles of Laos in the aftermath of war. After a difficult and perilous journey that neither of his parents survived, the young refugee reached safety in Thailand, only to quickly realize his challenges were only just beginning.
