- International Film Series: Perfect Days (Wim Wenders, Germany 2023) - Feb. 4, 2026 @ 7:00 pm
Hirayama feels content with his life as a toilet cleaner in Tokyo. Outside of his structured routine, he cherishes music on cassette tapes, reads books and takes photos. The film explores themes of finding beauty in the mundane, and the quiet contentment Hirayama has found by leaving a past life behind.
Screenings begin at 7:00pm in the Neville Auditorium.

All films are free and open to the public and are unrated but intended for a mature audience.

A bride in a chaste white wedding dress, her face hidden behind a veil, bridesmaids in matching dresses, piles of wedding gifts: all of these have become such entrenched traditions of the wedding ceremony they seem eternal, yet these rituals have existed for less than 200 years. Explore how these traditions emerged and why they have fossilized into the wedding rituals we experience today.

Location: Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve - 2024 Lakeview Drive, Suamico WI
Your chance to enjoy the outdoors doesn't end with the arrival of cold weather. Registered participants can stop in anytime between 5pm and 8pm to enjoy Barkhausen's Self-Guided Candlelit Hike. The entire family, including leashed dogs, are able to enjoy the 1.25 mile stroll through Barkhausen's illuminated trail that winds through the woods during this event. 

Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Tickets are purchased online only (unfortunately we are not taking walk-ins for this event). Cost is $5/person (2 and under are free). Purchases are final, no refunds unless cancelled due by the Brown County Parks Department. 

We will have snowshoe rentals (weather dependent) onsite on a first-come, first-serve basis. Rental
fees are $5/person and are not included in event fee.

- SPARK! - Musical Marvels - Feb. 16, 2026 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
SPARK! is a creative engagement program for people with early to mid-stage memory loss and their care partners.

FREE – Registration required – Space is limited.
Discover the magic of music in this sensory and creative program where participants explore unique instruments, sounds, and rhythms. We’ll dive into the beauty of sound by listening to instruments and iconic music like In the Hall of the Mountain King. Finally, we will create personal “listening maps” that capture the emotions and movement of the music, making for a memorable and expressive experience!

Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve Presents: Winter Landscape Photography Workshop.  Join local landscape and nature photographer, Justin Key, for a photography workshop that features a new topic each month.  Each workshop is a two-day event featuring a group nature walk, with hands-on instruction and assistance from Justin.  Workshop will conclude with a relaxed photo share session.
