In 1833, Vermont surveyor Hoel Wright set up a trading post and ferry crossing at the mouth of Plum Creek on the Fox River. He called this place Bridgeport. The name turned out to be a promise: Wrightstown would go on to build the first bridge across the Fox River in Brown County. This talk covers the settlement Hoel Wright built and the impact the bridge had on the town and all of Brown County.
