- An Evening with Lynda Drews author of "The Maid and the Socialite" - June 4, 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
When two women from opposite ends of the social spectrum find themselves victims of celebrated surgeon and closet abuser, Dr. John R. Minahan, they both fight to tear down his pristine legacy and advocate for long-silenced victims.

Lynda will talk about the book and then answer questions after.

Kevin Hermening, Marine Veteran, will speak on his time as a POW in Iran. He was the youngest of the Americans held hostage for 444 days at the U.S. Embassy. This is an opportunity for veterans to gather, learn something new, and participate in an optional meal.

Lunches are provided on a suggested donation of $5. There is a registration form that will need to be completed in order to participate.

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park and the NEW Zoological Society are excited to host our annual World Giraffe Day celebration on Friday, June 21st, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Proceeds from the event will directly support giraffe conservation efforts in Africa. This event is free with regular zoo admission.

Learn about and build your own bow, arrows, fletches, and quiver. Then test out your design, make modifications based on what you learned, and compete in some fun archery challenges!

Work with cardboard to bring 2-D ideas into the 3-D world while learning basic design and prototyping skills.
