The Professional Standards Division is led by Captain Trevor Bilgo, a 25-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from UW–Platteville, with a minor in Psychology. Captain Bilgo is a member of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Death Response (LEDR) team and serves as an Executive Peer Support Team Instructor as well as a Wisconsin DOJ Peer Support Instructor. He coordinates the Sheriff's Office Peer Support Team and has previously served as a crisis negotiator. In 2021, he completed the FBI’s National Crisis Negotiation Course (NCNC) and has served on the Wisconsin Crisis Negotiators Association Board for the past seven years. His past roles also include K9 handler, Training Lieutenant, Unified Tactics Instructor, and Bellevue Directed Enforcement Officer (DEO). Outside of work, he and his family maintain a small hobby farm.

- Pre-Employment background investigations for both sworn and non-sworn applicants
- Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program--Led by Dare Officer Bryanne Gawlik
- Crime Prevention
- Public and media relations including social media accounts
- Sex Offender Registry
- Honor Guard
- Citizen and officer awards
- Training Section-including both field training and in-service training
- The Cadet Program (Formally the Explorers Program)- led by Deputy Jessica Smith
