May 23, 2023 - Extension Brown County Educators Presented at the UW-Madison Showcase 2023

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Office of Strategic Consulting hosted the 23rd annual Showcase event on Thursday, April 20, at Union South. This day-long event brought together campus colleagues to share best practices, learn from each other’s successes, and connect.
Patrick Nehring, Community Development Educator; Liliana Ramirez Gonzalez, FoodWIse Coordinator; and Clarice Martell, Healthy Communities Coordinator submitted a proposal which was accepted into this juried event. Their poster “Collaboration to Understand Food Security; Leveraging partnerships to reach the community.” They partnered with a number of community organizations in Brown County to implement the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) food security survey. In addition to sharing the value of partnerships, the poster featured results showing the prevalence of food insecurity in Brown County.
