November 7, 2023 - Invasive Species Information: Spotted Lanternfly

Lycorma Delicatula, commonly called the 'Spotted Lanternfly' is an invasive species knocking on Wisconsin's door. This invasive insect is native to Asia and has been spotted in Illinois. While the Spotted Lanternfly does not pose a threat to human and animal species, they do pose a significant threat to tender and woody plants such as maple, willow, birch, poplar, grape, apple, and stone fruit trees. The Tree of Heaven is a preferred fall feeding host for adults.
