A total of 31 professional manure applicators and farmers from across Wisconsin participated in the Manure 101 session. The objective of the session was to provide training on safe manure handling and application practices, human and environmental safety. Topics covered during the training include road safety, manure gas safety, manure regulations and application, spill response, CAFO regulations, pump safety, equipment calibration, and public relations.
For the Green Bay session, there were 7 CAFO farm employees from within Brown County, responsible for spreading manure from >4,000 cows, and 7 business owners/employees of a Brown County manure applicator who spread manure from >14,000 cows in Brown, Kewaunee and Door Counties
