May 23, 2023 - STEM Family Day Success
The second annual STEM Family Day took place April 29, 2023 - and with more than 850 attendees, was a complete success. Extension Brown County, a partner in planning the event with UWGB, UWGB Engineering Club and the Einstein Project, supported six hands on booths during the event, which was open from 10:00am until 2:00pm. From planting seeds with the Northeast Wisconsin Master Gardeners, to learning about DNA, micropipettes, engineering paper plate hats, learning about what is in our blood, and identifying fingerprints, Extension Brown County provided opportunities for youth to find their sparks with us. Chris Clover, the 4-H Mascot, also made an appearance multiple times throughout the day.
In addition to the activities done by Extension Brown County, there were more than 30 other booths, manned and supported by UWGB student and professor groups, the Einstein Project, and community partners. For the full list of tables, check out the event website: STEM Family Day — Einstein Project
Melinda Pollen, Youth Development Educator, appeared on Local 5 Live and was interviewed by Channel 11 during this event as well.
