Rockland 4H Club June Report -
At our June monthly club meeting, an eighth-grade club member, Grace H., gave a presentation on her educational experience trip to Space Camp, located in the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Some of the highlights that Grace pointed out during her presentation were exploring the Saturn V Museum, going to the planetarium, trying different simulators, and participating in a simulated space mission at Space Camp. Grace shared multiple pictures and encouraged members of our club to apply for Space Camp and other educational experience trips. Afterwards, we got our results back from the Hoard’s Dairyman Cow Judging Contest and had an ice cream sundae party at the end of the meeting to celebrate June - Dairy Month.

At our July monthly club meeting, a 9th grade club member, Aila R., gave a presentation on her educational experience, the American Spirit trip which was a bus trip that made several stops along the way in the Northeastern part of the U.S. Some of the stops/places they visited along the way included an Amish Farm in Indiana, Valley Forge in Pennsylvania, went on a walking tour of Philadelphia and the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and Central Park while in New York City. Then they made stops in Boston and Salem, Massachusetts, on their way back home to Wisconsin, they looped up towards Canada to see the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Aila also shared many photos and encouraged members to consider applying for similar trips in the future. After Aila’s presentation, one of the adults in our 4-H club showed us how to register our projects for the fair. Next, a few members reported on a Shooting Sports competition using 3-D targets and volunteering at the Breakfast on the Farm event.
Rockland 4H Club August Report -
At our August monthly club meeting a club member named Eleanor reported on her involvement in the dog training project this spring. She did classes on agility and obedience with her dog, which were once a week. This was her second year in the project, and Eleanor stated that she really enjoyed it. Afterwards, multiple members recapped on the club outing to the Bay Beach Wildlife Center and the Bay Beach Amusement Park where each member got a few tickets to ride rides. Then, our club leaders informed us of all the times for judging and picking up items and animals at the fair. Our club leaders also announced that the horse-show food stands were successful, and that the scrapbook, sewing, and ceramics projects were all done and ready to go to the fair.
